chapter
1
The man with the wooden shoe was a curious fellow.
He walked from one town to the next looking for the other shoe.
When he could not find it he turned and walked away.
Day in and day out he took these curious walks.
2
Stupid guy.
Why didn't he
just buy a new pair?
3
"I must find that shoe," he said to no one in particular.

He knew that shoe, in the wrong hands, could create a
world of chaotic mischief only a child could love.

He ran down a narrow road, dodging tomatoes
being thrown by the locals. "A silly tradition," he thought,
shaking his head to free the red, juicy meat and flesh that hit
his right ear, causing temporary deafness.

He dodged and darted finding an opening between two buildings,
both ice cream parlors. He was near the back-ends of the buildings
when a tall, hairy, blob of a creature . . .
4
appeared in from of him walking screaming

"Hey!" the man yelled up at the blob. "What are you screaming about?"
"Someone took my ice cream cone," said Blob between sobs.
"You got one shoe. Why?" asked Blob.
"I'm trying to find that out. Find the other shoe. If you see it will you hold it for me?" said th man.
"OK," said Blob, then he turned and walked back into the ice cream parlor.

"Like I need more of other's peoples work to do" thought the blob. "Charity begins at home" he recalled one of his father's favorite sayings. "Charity this," he mumbled. "I'd like a double scoop of chocolate chip mint", he politely requested, "on a sugar cone, please."
7
The Blob had seen a single wooden shoe, floating upside down, in the Prince's spell room.
The Prince caught Blob, ordering him to the "Icy Delight," where he must eat
10 double-scoop cones before castle guards will allow Blob back into the King's castle.

"Why would the prince have one wooden shoe in his spells room, next to the charms table?" Blob said to no one. "What good could only one shoe do? The shoes are charmed, probably as a pair."

Blob raced outdoors. "That guy with one wooden shoe left for the castle,' said Egor Enore.

And, so it went on.

"Thanks for the change"
10
It was difficult not to care what people thought of my largely shoe-less existence. Piercing glares filled my life. Confusion became a regular part of my day. I wasn't rich - so why would I need to pretend that I was, like some guy who actually wore two shoes. That wasn't the life for me, man. I was freewheeling. I listened to Coldplay. I was on a higher plane of existence. Until that fateful day. I'll never forget it. I was traipsing around, with nary a care. That's when I noticed the glass. So much glass!
chapter
11
Before I could stop myself, I stepped down on the glass and let out a scream so loud, all the neighbouring towns heard me. Squinting my eyes in fear, I looked down at my foot, expecting to see a rush of blood staining the streets, but instead so no such thing. Yes, there was a large shard of glass sticking out of my food, but no blood, and once the initial shock had warn off, no pain. I bent down and picked up a piece of glass, examining it closely and realizing quickly that this was no ordinary glass...
12
I could see pictures, moving pictures. That blob thing I just talked to is in that glass, walking around something, then another guy comes in--THE PRINCE! What is this glass?

Very strange, very strange indeed. To be standing on the side of the road, looking at a piece of glass, once in my shoe, and seeing a . . . a movie? The Prince is yelling at the blob, pointing at him. Did he send that thing to the ice cream shop? I wonder. I'm gong to the castle and find out myself.
